Mouse Does Not Turn On

My mouse does not interact with the computer screen, or show any red light on the top of the mouse.

Light On Top Of Mouse Is Not On

There should be a red light emitting from a clear button located on the top of the mouse. If it is not on, your mouse is not turned on. This is usually fixed by restarting your computer. If restarting your computer does not help, you might have a dead battery.

Dead Battery

The most likely reason why the mouse does not turn on is because the AA battery inside the mouse are dead. To replace the battery, please refer to the repair guide Replacing the Battery.

Mouse Interacts With Computer, But The Red Light Is Not Showing Or Blinking

My mouse can successfully connect to a computer and interact with the icons on the screen but the red light is not emitting from the clear button on the top of the mouse.

Restart Computer

Most problems can be solved by restarting your computer. Because the computer and mouse are connected with the USB port, restarting the computer restarts the mouse as well. After restarting the computer, and the red light is still not showing, continue to the next step.

Replace the LED

Sometimes it is the light source itself that needs to be replaced. The light that emits the red glow is called an LED, refer to the guide replace the LED for more information.

Mouse Interacts With Computer, But The Button On Top of Mouse Does Not Work

The red light is illuminating the DPI (Dots Per Inch) button. The button's function is to change the sensitivity of the mouse with reference to its movement on the screen. It has three settings: slow, medium, and fast. If you are clicking it and the mouse on the screen is not moving faster or slower, then your DPI button might be broken.

Restart Computer

Most problems can be solved by restarting your computer. Because the computer and mouse are connected with the USB port, restarting the computer restarts the mouse as well. After restarting the computer, and the DPI button is still not working, continue to the next step.

Replace DPI button

If the DPI button is still not working after restarting your computer then you have a faulty or broken DPI button. No worries, please refer to the guide replace the DPI button to replace it. This should solve your problem!

Mouse Does Not Interact With Computer

My mouse does not move on the screen when I physically move the mouse around.

Make Sure The Mouse Is On

Refer to the troubleshooting step Mouse Does Not Turn On to check if the mouse is on or not.

Restart The Computer

Most problems can be solved by restarting your computer. Because the computer and mouse are connected with the USB port, restarting the computer restarts the mouse as well. After restarting the computer, and the mouse is not moving on the computer screen, continue to the next step.

Clean The Bottom Of The Mouse

Sometimes the problem with the mouse is it is dirty. The dirt it picks up after use can block the sensor on the bottom of the mouse. It can also make the mouse hard to move around. To clean your mouse, take a q-tip and scrub along the bottom of the mouse until it is free of debris.

The Sensor Might Be Broken

Another large problem is the sensor could be broken. Do not worry, this can be replaced! Please refer to Replace Mouse Sensor to fix it.

The USB Connector Is Bad

Lastly, your USB connector might be faulty. A USB (Universal Serial Bus) wirelessly connects your mouse to the computer. All mouses have different identities which are called 'Drivers'. When you plug the USB into your computer, the computer quickly downloads the driver specific to your mouse. Sometimes all you need to do is re-download the driver which can be done by following this link: Re-download My Driver and clicking 'Driver' under downloads. If that does not work, try cleaning the USB ports. To do so, lightly rub a q-tip around the entrance of the chip. If it still does not work, then the actual USB port is broken. This can be replaced as well by buying a new chip.

The Scroll Wheel Is Not Working

I am scrolling the scroll wheel but it is not scanning the text.

Make Sure The Mouse Is On

Refer to Mouse Does Not Turn On to check if the mouse is on or not.

Restart The Computer

Most problems can be solved by restarting your computer. Because the computer and mouse are connected with the USB port, restarting the computer restarts the mouse as well. After restarting the computer, and the scroll wheel is still not working, continue to the next step.

Clean the Scroll Wheel

Sometimes the scroll wheel could be dirty! Do not worry because this is an easy fix, please refer to How to Clean the Scroll Wheel to clean it.

Scroll Wheel Might be Broken

After all of the above steps under 'The Scroll Wheel Is Not Working', and your scroll wheel is not working, you have to replace the scroll wheel to get it working again. Please refer to How to Replace the Scroll Wheel guide to replace it.

The Mouse Buttons are not Working

Sometimes the mouse buttons cannot be clicked or they are difficult to click. This makes the interaction between the mouse and the computer very hard.

After restarting the computer, and the mouse buttons are not clicking efficiently, continue to the next step.

The Mouse Buttons Are Broken

The literal mouse buttons are generally the problem. After so much use, the mouse buttons tend to lose their ability to work. You should not worry, they can be replaced! Please refer to the Replacing Mouse Buttons guide to solve your problem.

My Anker mouse was somehow randomly re-assigned to a different Tecknet mouse that I use on a different computer. Now, both the Tecknet mouse and the Anker mouse are both connected to the same receiver. I cannot find any information on how to undo this assignment and re-assign the Anker mouse to the Anker usb receiver. How can I do this?

ANKER model:TM137U sometimes when using the scroll wheel it causes the pages to scroll to a different location of the page and evens causes chrome browser to flicker and even blank out. I tried the pressure can duster cleaner and it helped a little but it tends to come back after week or two. I used the same mouse at home and its fine not sure if its some thing else causing this.

If I have lost the wireless adaptor, the small USB dongle that connects my mouse to my PC, is there a way to buy a new one, where can I get one?

Sharath HP - Responder

To pair the dongle with mouse, please press middle and right button for more than 3 seconds

My mouse keeps defaulting to the right side of everything! websites, documents, etc It will scroll on its own.

HOW DO I FIX THIS???!!!

Emily Smith - Responder

I have exactly the same issue, Emily! The right-tilt functionality of the mouse wheel seems to be the culprit. I can’t find any way to fix or disable it.

Have you had any luck?

I have the same problem, on Mac. The mouse is only a few weeks ago. I can’t seem to find any way to fix this scrolling issue. If I hover over a window with files in Finder, it will keep scrolling through. Web pages, same thing

The wheel on my mouse has gotten really bad. I scroll down or up and sometimes it's all over the place or goes the wrong way. Almost worthless to use

Back button and forward button stopped working(these are the two buttons with arrows on the thumb side of the mouse).

I spoke with Anker support and they had me “reset” the buttons by holding them both down at the sametime for several seconds.

Worked like a charm!

THANK YOU! Your comment on the back and forward buttons not working was helpful!!

This product is a COMPLETE waste of money. It never worked once, brand new. Set up perfectly. New batteries. Nothing. Horrible product, or at least the one sent to me.

I have this mouse, is it possible to make the LED be blue or red all the time just for a cool look?

Chinmay Gupta - Responder

Sadly resetting the back and forward buttons only fixes it for a short time. It eventually stops working again, any advice?

Katherine - Responder

The red light turns on on the side of the mouse but it wont connect to my computer and the sensor at the bottom of the mouse is really light.. does this mean my sensor is broken? I replaced the batteries in hopes that it was that but still the same problem

My Anker mouse does not seem to be working following the most recent Windows 10 update. It’s glitching and freezing. I’ve restarted the computer both with the mouse connected and not connected, changed the batteries and tried different usb ports to no avail. The mouse also seems to function worse when I connect my portable storage devices. Any advice would be great.

My vertical Anker wireless mouse is moving in a square pattern on its own. What’s wrong with it? How do I fix it? Thanks.
