POWERbot Does Not Charge

Your POWERbot does not have power.

Emergency Switch

Check if the emergency switch is on. If the emergency switch is not on, turn it on.

Battery

First look at the charge indicator to see if the POWERbot needs to be charged. If the POWERbot is not charging, first check to make sure the charging station is firmly plugged into a power source. Confirm that the outlet is receiving power by using it to power another device. Make sure the charging pins on the docking station and the POWERbot are aligned correctly.

If the POWERbot fails to charge after following these steps, you may need to replace the battery.

POWERbot Fails to Return to Charging Station

Your POWERbot is unable to reach docking station.

POWERbot is Immobilized by an Obstacle

If your POWERbot is unable to reach the docking station, make sure the area around the charger is clear of obstacles. If it continues to not reach the docking station then you may need to manually charge the POWERbot. To manually charge, lift up the POWERbot and place it on the docking station. Make sure the charging pins on the docking station and the POWERbot are aligned correctly.

Power Failure

Check if there is a power failure or whether the power plug is securely plugged in. If there is a power failure, test the outlet the docking station is plugged into with another device to ensure the outlet has power. If the power plug is unplugged, plug it in to a known working outlet.

POWERbot Can't Connect to Wi-Fi

Your POWERbot isn't recognizing your Wi-Fi.

If your device is not connecting to the Wi-Fi, check your wireless router's setting status.

Try resetting your wireless network. Locate the power source plug on the Wi-Fi router and unplug it. Wait at least 30 seconds, then plug it back in. After resetting the router, try to reconnect your POWERbot to the Wi-Fi.

If the device still does not connect to the Wi-Fi, you may need to replace your POWERbot's wireless antennae.

POWERbot Shows an Error Code

Your POWERbot's display screen shows one of the following error codes: C 01, C 02, C 03, C 04, C 05, C 06, C 07, or C 11. Find the displayed error code below.

C 01

Foreign object is caught in the brush. Turn off the emergency switch, and remove the foreign object from the brush. After the foreign object is removed, turn the emergency switch back on.

C 02

Foreign object is caught in the left driving wheel. Turn off the emergency switch, and remove foreign object from the left driving wheel. After the foreign object is removed, turn the emergency switch back on.

C 03

Foreign object is caught in the right driving wheel. Turn off the emergency switch, and remove the foreign object from the right driving wheel. After the foreign object is removed, turn the emergency switch back on.

C 04

Foreign object is caught in the auto shutter tool. Turn off the product by pressing the emergency switch and remove the foreign object from the auto shutter tool. After the foreign object is removed, turn the emergency switch back on.

C 05

Bumper sensor needs to be checked. Turn off the emergency switch, and then turn it back on. Check if there is any foreign objects between the main body and the bumper. If there is a foreign object, pull the bumper slightly, and then remove the foreign object. After the foreign object is removed, turn the emergency switch back on.

C 06

Foreign object has accumulated on the obstacle sensor. Turn off the emergency switch, and with a soft cloth clean the front and rear sensor. After the front and rear sensor is clean, turn the emergency switch back on.

C 07

Foreign object has accumulated on the cliff sensor. Turn off the emergency switch, and with a soft cloth clean the cliff sensor. After the cliff sensor is clean, turn the emergency witch back on.

C 11

Main PCB needs to be checked. Turn off the device and restart it. If the problem persists then the battery may need to be replaced.

POWERbot's Suction is Weak

Your POWERbot is not properly vacuuming the areas it covers.

Increasing Noise

If the noise of your POWERbot significantly increases, turn off the emergency switch, and then empty the dustbin.

Filter Inspection Indicator

If the "Filter inspection indicator" is on, turn off the emergency switch, and clean the dustbin. When there is too much dust in the dustbin, suction power becomes weakened. Turn off the emergency switch and empty dustbin.

Intake Blocked

If the intake (bottom of the POWERbot) is blocked by a foreign object, turn off the emergency switch, and then remove the foreign object from the intake.

This network issue is stupid. I have 73 devices online in my smarthome. I cant just go reset everything and my router. I should have done my homework on the powerbot r7070 better. If id known they cant handle networks properly then i would never have bought it. I am very disappointed.

Same issue here! Super upset. It wont work on any of my network and rolls right over that “magnetic tape” barrier. Not to mention there are VERY few results for any troubleshooting searches on this thing…

Matt brown -

I recently got my r7070 about a week ago. I set it to go clean when i heard something caught in the dust bin (piece of dog food). I emptied it out and unclogged some hair in the front. When i had it resume cleaning the vacuum only moved around with no suction. I tried going from the three power levels but nothing seemed to work. Any ideas what happened? It was working until i emptied the dust bin.

Did you ever figure out what was wrong mine is doing the same thing

My r 7070 was working great. Till it picked up ?. Mess.said something was caught in the roller. I cleaned the roller and put it back in…

Now it makes a noise like roller is hitting the bottom cover… what do I do?

tammy brunk - Responder

Try running it without the cover to narrow down the cause.

pammynot -

Powerbot r7070 will only connect to my network if security is disabled despite having the WPA2-PSK/ASE selected. Tech support was ZERO help. When cleaning it seems to zig zag all over the place and once the battery is low it seems even more confused on making it’s way back to the charging station. Samsungs answer, send it back for REPAIR, i’ve had this thing for only 2 weeks and it cost WAY more than my standard vacuum.

I can say, mine cleans well, despite the zigzag pattern. It won’t connect to wifi though and hardly ever makes it back to recharging station. It normally gets caught on toys or something in my daughters room (because the magnetic barriers don’t work at all!!). I did hear that if you pick it up and move it, it gets confused and can’t find its way back to recharge - if that helps.

Matt brown -

Mine started failing after i conmwct to wifi and smart things app as well as connect to google home to control it. Google home did not turn on the vac when asked. Also now the robot moves backward while stuttering when turned on and then it stops. Says it is caught, stuck, trapped even though it isnt. I checked the wheels and the roller. Nothing found. Sending it in for service. Just got it 12/24/2018. Today is 1/6/2019!

My R7070’s vacuum motor stopped running after 6 months, so there was no suction. I opened it up and removed the motor thinking it might need to be replaced. I noticed that the housing was dirty, so I used contact cleaner to clean the brushes (you can spray them through the motor housing). That seems to have fixed it.

Edge cleaner not coming out to clean. Any help thx

My R7070 rolls right over the magnetic strip like it isn't even there. I cleaned all the sensors I thought it avoided crossing the magnetic barrier at first but it definitely crosses them now without hesitation. Is this something I can fix?

I have had my powerbot for 1 1/2 years and it has only worked for 6 months. I have sent it in 2 times for the battery. I have replaced batteries, which are not cheap $90. The battery works for a little bit then once it returns to the charging station It will not charge. I am so disappointed with this product. I thought I had done my homework but apparently not enough. So now I am stuck with an expensive vacuum that will not charge.

Peggy Sue Gosman - Responder

does anyone know why my vac starts then just stops three feet away with the error code lo?

I just replaced the battery, sometimes it runs for 30 minutes (not long enough in my opinion with a new battery) sometimes 30 seconds

Can’t connect R7070 to wifi. Samsung has an issue and should recall these vacuums.

Hello Jackie, my powerbot showed the same symptom too. I also couldn’t find any solution here as well as from other sources too. However, recently I stumbled upon a site where the writer wrote about samsung powerbot and some other robot vacuum cleaners. Though, they didn’t mention anything about samsung powerbot’s lighting issue, like here, but in shark robot vacuum’s troubleshooting portion, I found a solution. It’s pretty simple though, but fortunately, it was the issue for my powerbot. You can check the site if you want.

My 7070 will not find the dock after a cycle, even after putting it 1 foot in front of the dock. Does it use IR to dock itself? If so how can I tell if the dock is the problem or the powerbot? I know, it is wishful thinking that it is the dock, so I assume the powerbot. The weird thing is there are NO error codes. You’d think it could identify a sensor failure or a motherboard failure… ugh!

I keep getting the C04 error even though there is nothing there? Any Ideas?

C07 code will not go away even after following directions to turn off the emergency switch and cleaning the two cliff sensors in front of the wheels with a Q-tip and soft eye glass cloth. When I turn the vacume back on at the station it backs up and the code returns..help

I just purchased a powerbot 7065 vacuum cleaner. This new vacuum will not go over my three black and white throw rugs. Please help

Ron Hurlbert - Responder

My 9250 has the same issue as the vacuum with the dog food in the dustbin. Actually mine sounds worse because it picked up a very small 5 “ watch screwdriver and got it caught in the powerbrush. Now it moves off of the charger the vacuum noise starts it does a half turn to start the room and makes the error sound. It doesn't throw an error code. It just sits there and makes the noise. I would imagine the screwdriver broke something but you would think that they should have put a fail safe on it that cuts power if something substantial is caught in the brush. I'm sure I'm not the first. I'm not sure at this point if I need to replace a belt or if the brush motor is fried and il. Need to find a used one. I'm very good with other repairs on these and have 5 of them so if you have questions don't hesitate to contact me.

This troubleshooting guide is stupid. Check if it's plugged in. Check if it's on. Check if it's blocked by an object. Seriously, who phoned this crap in?
