This laptop is modifiable, as it contains features such as expandable memory (up to 16 GB).
There have been recalls for Toshiba Satellites, but none for this specific model. The main fault found with these laptops are their reoccurring battery issues. The Toshiba Satellite C855D-S5303 was replaced by the Toshiba Satellite C55D-A5240NR in June of 2013.
