Device Won’t Turn On

Your precious Toshiba L15W-B1303 will not turn on.

Drained/Dead Battery

Plug your Toshiba L15W-B1303 into your wall adapter to charge. If it does not charge with the wall adapter, try a replacement charging cord and adapter. If it still does not work, you most likely have a dead battery. The battery will need to be replaced.

Blank/Black Screen

If you hear the laptop turn on and hear the sounds coming from the start-up, but you do not see any display on the screen, the screen may need to be replaced. A video showing how to replace the screen can be found here.

No sound or audio is making weird noises.

Your audio device is not sounding right or your not hearing any sound at all.

Cable connected to audio jack is loose

If you cannot hear anything or the noise is off the cable may have been knocked loose. Double check if the audio jack is loose or not.

Audio driver is outdated.

You may have outdated software installed in your operating system and may need to update the audio device to get it working properly again.

  1. Windows has a search box on the task bar , type “Device manager“.
  2. Select audio input and outputs and right-click on any of the below devices and click update driver.

This will update any of the audio devices that the laptop uses so you can hear the audio properly.

Audio Device May Be Broken.

If you believe you have tried everything possible to fix the audio device then it’s possible that you may need to replace it.

Touchpad Unresponsive

Touchpad not working properly? Can’t quite get the cursor to go where you want to?

Your Touchpad might need cleaning

Dirt and grime can interfere with the touchpad. Try wiping your touchpad with a cloth, or with the use of a cleaning solution.

Your Drivers Might Need Updating

Your computer needs special driver programs to make the touchpad work. If you’re missing these programs, or they’re outdated, then consider taking a look at the manufacturer’s webpage where drivers can be found and downloaded.

Your Touchpad Board Might Need Replacing

If you're still having issues, it could be that something is wrong with your touchpad Board. This is component located inside of your laptop that allows your touchpad to work properly. Replacing this board doesn't have to be difficult.

Computer Freezing

Screen randomly freezing while you're trying to complete an important task?

Applications Using Too Much RAM and CPU Resources

You may be trying to run more than the computer can handle. The first solution is patience to see if the problematic process/processes complete on their own. If this does not work try opening Task Manager and closing the process consuming the highest CPU resources and RAM amount.

Computer May be Overheating

If the bottom of your laptop is very hot, your computer may be overheating. This may be caused simply by your environment, or from a dusty/faulty fan. You can try opening the laptop and cleaning the fan to fix this, or in more severe cases you may need to replace the fan.

Drivers May Need Updating

Wrong or Outdated drivers can cause computer freezes so try and keep them all up to date! Windows should be able to update them by itself, if you haven’t restarted your computer in a while that may be another good place to start.

Perform a System restore

If nothing else worked, you might have to perform a system reset to get rid of the issue at hand. You can easily do this by accessing your system settings and clicking reset my PC.

Unresponsive Keyboard

Is the keyboard not accepting any input?

Missing Key Drivers

If your keyboard is not responding to your inputs, it may be an issue with the driver software. Windows 10 is usually capable of keeping these drivers up to date and your computer may just need to check for updates and restart.

Keyboard Disconnected from Laptop

You may have knocked a wire loose in the laptop that connects the laptop to the keyboard.

Keyboard Is Damaged

You may need to replace the keyboard entirely.
