Saw Does Not Turn On

When I pull the trigger nothing happens.

Locked Up

Make sure you have released the lock off button above the trigger before each use. Letting go of the trigger automatically activates the lock off button.

Battery Is Not Charged

Plug in battery to charger. If light is blinking red leave in the charger; it needs to be charged. If the light is constant red it is fully charged. (For information on changing or charging the battery, see the Device Page.)

If neither of these apply, you may have a mechanical problem. You should contact DeWalt for maintenance or repairs.

Trigger Is Stuck

I am trying to pull the trigger to start the saw but I cannot pull it down

or The trigger is stuck in the down position.

Check to make sure the that there is nothing attached to the trigger.

Make sure the lock off button above the trigger is not on. (Letting go of the trigger automatically activates the lock off button.)

If the trigger is still stuck, it may need to be replaced. (See Device Page for step-by-step instructions)

Circular saw is not working

Saw Will Not Cut Deep Enough

It's cutting through the top of the material, but not all the way though.

Make sure the saw is turned off, then loosen (screw counterclockwise) the depth adjustment knob (knob on opposite side from blade) and raise the flat metal bottom piece until one tooth of the blade extends under the piece you wish to cut. Then re-tighten the depth adjustment knob before turning the saw back on.

My Cuts Are On An Angle

I am trying to get a normal cut, but the blade keeps making a sloped cut.

If you are trying to cut at a 90 degree angle but it keeps coming out as a more acute angle(>) turn off the machine, then try loosening the knob by the front of the saw blade. Once loose pull the flat metal leveling piece towards the trigger to make it perfectly level. Tighten knob to lock back into position.

My Saw Blade Wiggles

To test if your blade is loose, turn off machine and remove battery pack. Try moving the blade back and forth with your fingers. If there is blade movement, it needs to be tightened.

To tighten the blade, screw the washers in the center of the blade clockwise using the blade wrench.

My Saw Is Not Cutting Easily

A Crack In My Blade

Change your blade immediately. (for information on changing the blade see the Device Page.)

Takes A Lot Of Force To Cut

Your blade tips may be dull. To check to see that blade tips are sharp, turn off the saw, then see if they appear rounded. If they do, then it is time to change your blade. (for information on changing the blade see the Device Page.)

Saw Stops Moving Forward But Stays On

I was sliding the saw forward and it stopped moving, but the saw blade keeps spinning.

Turn off the saw. Make sure there is nothing in the way of the plastic blade guard. To check this pull on the plastic lever in the back until it rotates all the way to the front of the saw.

Feels Like Over Heating Or See Smoke

I was using the saw and noticed smoke coming out of the engine

Material Issue

Turn off your machine. Make sure there is nothing hindering the saw movement. If you are cutting through more than is intended you could overwork the engine. Remove anything that is in the way of the blade. Do not use the saw until it has cooled off.

Blade Issue

Make sure you are using the right saw blade for the material you are cutting. (For example, if you are cutting a metal make sure you have a blade intended for metal. In general, metal is cut with a stronger and finer toothed blade than wood.)

If neither of these apply, you may have a mechanical problem. You should contact DeWalt for maintenance or repairs.

Dewalt table saw blade angle lock lever doesn’t tighten. can I fix this?

Joseph M Kopko - Responder

Corded track saw doesn’t seem to have much power. Also doesn’t seem like it has enough rpms with speed adjustment on high. Took it in for warranty work, took a month and a half. Used it cutting down 3/4 ply, still seems weak . $600 saw should be better than this!

My saw isn't cutting straight. It pushes guide rail off line as you push forward which results in a curved cut. Any suggestions?

I also face this problem, it’s as if my blade is angled or out of square to the base plate, which isn’t the case, also without the rail my cuts in sheet material end up wavy and I struggle to keep it on my line!!!

The oil reservoir does not lubricate the chain

As a long time Professional user of De Walt Products I have to say the design of the trigger & lock mechanism on the plunge saw is a piece of garbage. From the day I bought it over 12 months ago it had been an ongoing problem that has cost me hours in lost time & hours of frustration. It has supposedly been fixed under warranty (took weeks) but has been an issue every time I use it.

It is time they recalled them all & fixed the issue. Over priced junk to say the least & not up to the usual standard of their products

I have a DCSS620 20V Dewalt chainsaw. I’ve used it for a couple of hours five times since I bought it. Now when I pull the trigger, nothing. The batteries are good. The chain and blade are clean. No reason I can see that it won’t work. I guess it has to be either the trigger, or the motor…
