Background and Identification
Whirlpool originated as a company in 1951 when a previous business venture called Upton Machine Company was revamped and renamed. The company changed direction and began focusing on selling home appliances. Upton Machine Company was founded in 1911 by Louis and Emory Upton. Today, the company, known now as Whirlpool, manufactures a range of home appliances, including refrigerators, oven ranges, microwaves, dishwashers, washers, and dryers.
The Whirlpool dishwasher line includes a range of dishwasher options. The line has Top Control, Front Control, Portable, and 3rd Rack models. Top Control models provide a sleeker appeal, hiding controls from view when the dishwasher is closed. On the other hand, Front Control models have the controls on the device’s exterior, making them easy to see. Portable Whirlpool dishwashers, as opposed to the built-in models, don’t require permanent installation and can be moved around as needed. 3rd Rack Whirlpool dishwashers have an additional rack tucked at the top of the appliance, allowing for more dishes to be cleaned in a single load.
Whirlpool dishwashers are rectangular and box-like in structure. They are designed to be placed in kitchens, often under countertops. Whirlpool dishwashers have a door that opens to an internal chamber with racks for dish organization.
