Camera Won’t Properly Take a Picture
The camera is not taking pictures properly. This may include pictures being blurry, not detecting a face, or no pictures being taken at all.
The Camera Does Not Focus
The subject could be too close or to far from the camera; try using macro mode or taking your camera out of macro mode if it is in it
There is No Picture Taken When the Shutter Button is Being Pressed
There are many things that could be causing this problem. One is memory being full. Try inserting a new memory card or deleting some pictures. There may be dirt on the memory card contacts. Take the memory card out and clean the contacts with a clean, dry cloth. The batteries could also be dead. Try putting in new batteries and turning the camera on again.
Pictures Are Blurry
The lens may be dirty. Try wiping off the lens with a clean, dry cloth. The sensor may also be dirty or damaged. Check the lens to see if it has any scratches or blemishes and use a can of compressed air to clean or a clean, dry cloth.
Hinge Door Sticks When Opening It and There is Difficulty with Closing It
When trying to open or close the door, it feels like it is sticking and will not properly move.
The Door that Holds the Batteries in Place Will Tend to Become Defective After Certain Usage.
If this occurs the most common solution would be replacing the spring and hinge that open and close the door. If this does not solve the issue, the next step would be to replace the plastic door.
Improper Movement of Lens
The lens moves roughly or does not move at all.
Electric Gear Motor Broken
There is an electric gear motor that controls the movement of the lens. An electric motor sound will occur when the motor is working properly. If the electric motor sound disappears and the lens is not moving, it is best to check the electric gear motor and replace it.
Gears Wear and Tear
Gears will wear over time. If there is an electric motor sound and the electric motor works properly, check to see that there are no damaged teeth on the gears. If teeth are missing or damaged, the gear may need to be replaced to work properly.
Dust Between Gears
If there is an unusual sound while adjusting the lens, or the movement of lens is not smooth, it is best to clean and grease the gears with proper lubrication.
The Batteries Run Down Quickly
The batteries seem to quickly lose power after being placed in the camera.
The Batteries May be Cold.
Remove the batteries and try placing them either in a pocket or some other warm place for a few minutes. Place them back in the camera before powering on and taking a new picture.
Dirt has Gotten into the Battery Terminals.
Remove the batteries from the camera, and clean the terminals with a clean, dry cloth. Place the batteries back into the camera, and try powering the camera back on.
Buttons and Switches Won’t Work Properly When Pressed
When a button is pressed, nothing happens, or when you try to flip a switch nothing happens either.
The Camera is Unresponsive
Temporary camera malfunction. Remove the batteries and then place them back in immediately. The batteries could also be dead, so try putting a new pair in.
The Camera Does Not Function as Expected.
Remove the batteries from the camera and then reinsert them. Try powering the camera back on and see if this worked. If the problem continues, contact your Fujifilm dealer.
