Can anyone help me find where to get it or perhaps an equivalent?

I bought that alternative power supply. It had all the right voltages written on the reverse that tallied with the original.

Got the TV to work.

Thanks to you for guiding me along the way.

@markbugejamd so, for now all we know is that this is a PW120508 POWER SUPPLY. We do not yet know if this was made by DGM or "farmed out" I would probably try a PW120506 which is made for the Technika TV's same size a yours. There are no data sheets that I could find and no schematics. Otherwise I would say lets fix yours. I'll keep on looking for more info.

If you have any other part numbers, identifiers anything really, on your board., post some pictures of those numbers. There are plenty of the 120506 on eBay but not a single 120508

This board was fixed a number of times by a technician and it never lasted enough.

Board identifiers:

LEKE LK-OP2060-003 Rev:1.2 on the component side

ROHS E190219(C) CQC03001006425 on the reverse together with large 0932

@markbugejamd yes, it did look like it had been worked on. It seems like there are just no direct replacements available at the common sites like ebay etc. Sites where they sell used stuff :-) You can either wait and check regularly if there is one popping up or try a different version (revision) of the board. It's a PITA without schematics and data sheets

Since we don't know anything about it, it would be risky just buying a similar one. The connectors may not fit correctly and the connection to the main board may not deliver the correct current and voltage unless there are some standards which I very much doubt these days. Not even a simple charging cable is as easy to buy with all the different plugs and circuitry incorporated into them.

Companies are difficult to get hold of to get information and assistance..... The throw away culture..... buy new..... forget the ecological damage and toxic waste.

@markbugejamd 100% correct. Profit before People/Planet. I want people to make money, yes even big greedy corp's like Apple. Do it in an ethical way by supporting your customers, not by declaring products to be legacy products and stop supporting those devices. If you declare anything as legacy at least publish the repair documents. Intellectual property, my rear. Greed is the bottom line.

Repair is War on Entropy!

If the power supply does not work, how can I gather that info?

I dismantled the TV quite a while ago whilst trying to find a new board which I have not yet been successful in doing. I'll have to dig it back out if I know I can be guided towards a potentially successful repair.

I do have a variable power source 3-24 volts. Can I use this to establish at what voltage the mainboard powers up?

You'd have to know what voltage goes where. You would need either 3,.3 or 5 for sty, then commonly 12V for the panel and the audio and another 3.3 or 5 V for the mainboard on/off. The backlight ,which could be another 12V. So you would need to find each wire connected to those circuits and then start with a low voltage and go up. Going to be a PITA without schematics etc.

I took a closer look at the board. The pins are actually labelled!

The two pins (white base): 250V N - L (power in I assume)

The two orange connector pins are as follows:

  • smaller one: 12mm - 6 pins: 12V - 12V - on/off - ADJ - GND - GND
  • longer one: 25mm - 12 pins: 5V - 5V - 5V - GND - GND - GND - 12V - 12V - ON/OFF - ADJ - GND - GND

@markbugejamd that is half the battle (and even more) right there. Now you can either try one of the other boards or even consider a totally separate power supply. You know the voltages you are looking for and even know which pin goes where.

Can be more explicit, please? I am checking with 2 sellers on eBay re: PW120506. The two I found are not new.

How did you come to this part number?

By going through some of the power supplies that were manufactured for the smaller TV's by the same manufacturer with the same board Number. Changes in versions are commonly related to the component layout and sometimes the connectors but very often the voltages are all still the same. Just the design that may haw slightly changed.

I ordered the PW120506 board. Fingers crossed!

por

@markbugejamd absolutely! Let us know how it works out. I don't like suggesting things that cost other peoples money and does not show good results.....

por

Of course. I am hopeful to a positive outcome.

Another thing I discovered is that the DVD that is included inside this TV is dead. Cables all in place. It is not that important as long as the TV works.... but.... knowing that the repair is not complete does irk me somewhat.

I sprayed some silicon on the plastic gears. This had no effect.

@markbugejamd a preliminary search for the DL-08HA-00-019 shows that this is a model that was also used in the GRUNDIG GU26DVD as well as many Vestel TV's. Let's see if we can find some schematics etc.

por

This DVD player was hardly ever used!

por

I am not sure if there could be a cable missing (following some previous repair job) that should power up the DVD module. There is at least one socket that is bare and could well have had a cable connecting it to the rest of the TV. How do you even begin to find things like this out?
