So, who am I and why am I here? I consider myself just a regular Joe. I am old enough to know better but still believe in trying to save the world and humanity. One device at a time. I love to mentor and to help others, I am into re-purposing and trying to repair anything.
I come from a time and a place where there was never enough money to just replace things or to just go and buy new stuff. Fixing things was not a passion but a necessity. 50 years of fixing, building and yes, breaking things as well, has taught me a lot. During my lifetime I've learned that the only thing that truly matters is how we get along with others; to never prematurely judge people. I do judge people by their actions and not by some preconceived notion. If you are being kind and compassionate toward our environment (people, planet, animal, etc.) you are okay in my book.
I have learned a lot and continue to study and learn new things daily. This enables me to provide some answer on this forum. It enables me to help someone that needs it and it helps to keep things going. All too often we discard stuff just because it is broken and we do not know how to fix it. This puts an incredible strain on our environment and it makes others rich. We all should support organizations like https://repair.org/stand-up/ to fight for our right to repair. It’ll keep our hard earned money in our pockets instead of further feeding the Profit-before-People (Planet) machinery.
“We all want to help one another. Human beings are like that. We want to live by each other's happiness, not by each other's misery. We don't want to hate and despise one another. In this world there is room for everyone, and the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone. “ (Charlie Chaplin in “The Great Dictator”) Totally awesome expression thereof shown here
Ten years on iFixit is a long time. After some debates with family and friends, I’ve made the decision to take a step back and to slow it down a bit but I will continue to support the efforts by everyone put forward on here.
that will depend on which board you have and if it is listed as supporting your monitor. The trick here is to match the monitor with a driver board. Always verify this with he vendor.
Measure the brushes and proceed to your local hardware store. You do not need original brushes, only some that fit. If you are like me and have collected all kinds of “treasures” you may find some that can be made to fit. You can file the brushes down and make them fit.
Is it the right battery and is it placed the right orientation?
Not on mine. Just rechecked and it is a 6mm on my Jeep
No, they do not. Strictly solid state
jennifer Mooney that is not necessary. I have replaced the spark plugs on “the Beast” numerous times and still have the original coil packs (240,000 miles and no issue;)
Just like any other power supply, don’t stick your fingers into it. The caps will remain charged for a while. Discharging the capacitors will eliminate all danger.
@solly90
Fuse= (watts/volts)X1.25
Watt = Amps x Volt
Watt = .9 X3.7
Watt = 3.3
Fuse = (3.3/3.7)x1.25
Fuse = 1.125
~1.5 Amp fuse will work. Measure the width and length of your fuse to determine the package size and check on places like Mouser or Digikey for a replacement
rsbrogna I believe the jumper had to do with the counter plus it was easier for me to do it that way. The only point I can think of where to test is at the fuse on the PCB.
@dave7777 nope. Place a rag under the hose before you take it off so it does not leave to much of a mess. Check the fluid after.
