There are problems common to those with an electronic board. So, disassemble, and usually under the display you will find the circuit board. Reasonable chance that fluid has entered this area and wreaked havoc. My fix was to dip Q-Tips into rubbing alcohol and swab the entire board (batteries out, of course), reassemble, and watch it light up. Give it a try. Dave

When our temperatures in the winter go well below freezing, and if we have set the sensitivity high such that it picks up traffic going by frequently, an older battery may drain to empty fairly quickly, faster than the wired-in doorbell supply can replenish. We have preferred to be aware of traffic in this dead end area after midnight.
Look closely at the positioning of the connector, the red wires to the outside. It is quite fiddly to get it back in, and it required several tries, finally snapping in with downward pressure.
I found these screws to require a lot of torque to remove. To void stripping the head, push the screwdriver in very firmly to begin the initial removal.
