If you dive deep into the Asus support website you will find a page "Transformer Book T100HA touch panel abnormal." http://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1015157/ this tells you to: "If your touch function does not work or activate , please download update tool of the touch panel and execute . Then, allow the system to re-do the touch panel adjustment. During adjustment process, please do not touch the screen to avoid adjustment failure . If you have touched the screen, please re-executed once." It was a pain in the **** doing this but it did work.
they are ”antenna connectors” going to the “AirPort/Bluetooth” assembly so I am guessing they are needed for the bluetooth. I removed them with a pair of small flat screwdrivers to gently walk them out of the sockets - which are quite deep.
My top tip - make sure you buy good quality Phillips screwdrivers and a magnetic holder. Cheap screwdrivers won’t get the screws undone safely. Without a magnetic holder you have no chance of getting the tiny crews in and out safely.
You need a decent quality T4 screwdriver here - the rubbish on that cm free with the screen assembly I bought failed completely to grip or loosen the screws. With one from a decent set (ForgeSteel from ScrewFix) they came out easily. A fridge magnet is useful to keep the screws on.
Great guide that worked fine... however to actually get the computer going with a new drive (the old one was dying so I decided not to clone it) I had to do the following
1. Create OSX installer on a usb thumb drive
2. install the new drive (following this guide)
3. Start up with thumb drive inserted
4. Format the new drive using disk utilities (the disk is not recognised until you do this)
5. Reset the date using terminal (until I did this the installer would not work)
