Background
The Ryobi RY40108 is a type of walk-behind lawn mower model. This particular lawn mower does not run off of gas, but charges via battery, thus making it very energy efficient. The mower comes with a 5.0 amp battery, rather than some that come with a 2.4 amp battery. This allows the mower's battery to last longer while cutting the yard. This specific model is also incredibly compact. The handlebars fold down to the mower which allows it to be stored in small spaces. Whether you are buying a newer model of this mower in-store or ordering the specific RY40108, all of Ryobi's walk-behind mowers come fully assembled. The only setup necessary is taking it out of the box, unfolding the fold-up handle feature, attaching the bag that catches excess grass, and plugging up the battery to be charged. Once you have done all of those steps and the battery is charged, your lawnmower is ready to cut grass for up to an hour.
This mower is best suited for smaller yards or smaller portions of a yard up to 1/2 an acre. Due to the battery time being unable to last more than an hour, it is not made to tackle large yards. It is best suited for homes with small lots of land or a landscaper doing quick clean-ups around a smaller flowerbed.
Identification
The Ryobi RY40108 looks like a standard push mower. The brand Ryobi itself uses lime green and black to stand out from other brands, so all of its products will have the infamous lime green and black design. The bag is all black with "Ryobi" written in white across it. "Ryobi" is also on the front of the mower itself. It also includes a "push-to-start" feature rather than a key, as well as LED headlights. The serial and model number will be written on a black label across the back of the tool.
The only way to truly distinguish the RY40108 from the newer models is to look at the serial number. The newest model of this product is the Ryobi 40V 2-in-1 18" Lawn Mower Kit. Different kits vary and there are different types of push mowers from this product, but this one has the most similar features to the RY40108.
