Which transistor do I solder in my synth? Yamaha PSS-370

Hello, I bought this used Yamaha synth, and it doesn’t work right. When I power it on you can hear the speaker activate, but nothing else is working (No power light, no buttons or keys are responding). I opened it and saw that someone in the past changed what I assume is the power regulator transistor with an S8050. My question is: What is the original transistor that is supposed to be in here? You can obviously see the s8050 is not supposed to be here looking at the illustration on the board. I have a suspicion that a 7805 volt regulator is supposed to be in there, because I’ve worked on Nintendo entertainment system clones where they cheaped out by putting an s8050 on board instead of it. I’m really not sure though, so soldering it will probably be the last resort if I don’t find a concrete answer. If anybody knows, thanks in advance!

Solução escolhida

2SC 2120 Y. I bought the service manual, and that turns out to be the transistor, for anyone wondering :))

@recordable2000 just looked through a couple of Yamaha schematics and it looks like they use consistently a 2SB1416 PNP transistor. Your S8050 is a NPN transistor. Of course, the SB1416 is obsolete. Here is the datasheet for the 2SB1416 (1).

I use this site to find equivalent transistors.

A wrong transistor could easily be the cause of your keyboard's issue.

Thanks, I'll try it once I buy the transistor and then I'll post if that fixed it

Hello, I can finally post an update. In the meantime I got information from another person on the internet who owns this synthesizer. He opened it up and the transistor is "2SC 2120". So, I tried 2 substitute transistors, the "2SD 1140" and the "BC337 25"(I had to rearange the rods on the second one). They both gave me the same result: The red power light now started working, and the speaker still works, but absolutely nothing else is functional. I suspect there must be some other issue too, I'll probably post about it when I have time. Still, thank you for the help!
