When the power is on only green light on. It does not transfer from the red light to green light. Even when the tv is made standby using the remote controller still green light is there no red light. But no picture no sound and no backlight.

Hi,
What is the model number of the TV?
Try a power refresh and see if that works.
Turn off the power at the power outlet and disconnect the TV power cable from the outlet.
Press and hold the TV Power button for 30 seconds and then release.
Reconnect the TV power cable to the power outlet and switch on the outlet.
Try to turn on the TV and see what happens.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! It worked for me! My Bravia is 12 years old. I thought for sure I was either looking at a new Power Supply Board or having to recycle this TV.

Thank you, this does work. I had six red flashing lights, I thought I would have to replace my Sony Bravia TV. I even had Geek Squad come out and they could not fix it. I turned off the power to the power outlet and disconnected the TV. Reconnected everything and it now works.
This just worked. My Sony Bravia was stuck on a particular channel and wouldn’t respond to any keys on the remote control except the power button. Thanks a bunch!
Unfortunately it did not work for me my model number is KDL-40S5100 and my remote is a RM-YD028

Finally found the solution. There is 6 large screw holes on the back of the tv, where you mount the wall mount. 4 of them are used to mount the tv and two center ones only holding the back cover. Looks like the guys who installed the tv used bottom and center holes leaving top ones empty. Longer mount screw went thru the frame pushing FB1 board in metal case toward the panel. Board under pressure of heatsinks broke after few years.
After I changed the board it still didn’t worked. while switching boards 2nd time I noticed that it doesn’t lie evenly in place. The metal stands under the board were bent down, right by the AU board, causing the two large connectors to not align correctly. fixed those and voila.
Interesting fact is that tv was on the wall in my living room for 5 years, then it was moved to basement also mounted, and it was working for 2-3 years, rarely used but working.

I had this exact problem with my screen black after powering on. Simple fix, these t.v.’s are older…digital signals weren’t fully implemented when they were made. There is a firmware update which will solve this problem I’m almost certain. Go to the Sony website and type in your model number and follow the instructions, you’ll need a USB key to download the firmware to and just plug it into your tv and in 10 minutes you should be good!

I need help as am struggling with the Sony 46EX710
Remote RM-GD014
The TV has a green light on but a blank screen.
Have tried the disconnect press power button on the TVpanel etc mutiple times.
Sometmes after discharging n rebooting the screen comes on for a few seconds and then again goes blank.
I left is alone for a week and then tried again. Viola it worked for 2 days without interruption and now it's back to the strange behavior.
Can someone help.

Switch tv off,, then switch on and simalteneoulsy press and hold for 30 seconds that power button
