Why is it overheating?
I turn my ps3 superslim on and it stays on for a couple of minutes. All of a sudden it says overheating power off.

cooling fans have likely failed. take it apart, plug it in see if the fans attempt to spin, very likely it's caked with dust. vacuum it out, make sure the fans spin should be ok.

Im having that problem also ...but when i turn my ps3 super slim on it doesn't show anything other then a black srceen as if it just blacked out meaning the system can't even get an sigal disconnected but the wires and place where needed but no show

Even i have the same problem. And the worst thing is that it is out of warranty and i bought it overseas . So sony in my country refuses to repair it. My bad luck.
