this has been happening to me for a while now (1 year) what happens when i do basically everything my screen fades and i reboot my iphone, then it has to be plugged in to power (even thought it was at 100% battery).
IOS - 6.1.6
NOT Jailbroken
16GB space

volcomslice, I'd start with a new battery. It is easily possible that your battery reports 100% but is not capable of holding a full charge. Hope this helps, good luck.

like you said changing the battery would do it, ive been talking to local shops that help you with your iphone/pc and im taking it in for a service really soon.
