Can you use HLD830030N5T, 5,6mm TO18 30mW 830nm Laser diodes as replacement or is the wattage different?
Thank you for the Info that the 1.0 Laser works in the 2.0 Variant!
TLDR, no you need 200mw to replace it.
The wattage for a base station laser is 200mW 830nm. With a 30mW I would expect the laser to immediately burn out because of constant current output.
Thank you very much!
for instance would this work?
Yes, that would work
I've replaced the Laser with a 830nm 200mW Laser, Visual with Phone Camera is good and the Station accepts it but the Vive pro doesnt see it sadly. I suspect the alignment of the Laser Diode isnt good, but i do not have the equipment to align a laser without burning my retinas.
Was worth a shot tho.
Thank you.
Unfortunate, I do get that on my index controllers sometimes where it doesn't like one of my 4 fixed base stations
did it work? it seems my diode is broken too. how to open the cover without damaging it?
I don't know if you can open it without damage because I opened it the same way as ifixit yt video
Wondering about this too as I would like to be able to glue the front cover back on after replacing the laser diode.
An option may me to use a handheld rotary tool with a thin cutting disc, got to better then melting the thing off.
