This guide will provide the necessary steps to remove and install the fan in the Lenovo Edge 15. The Edge 15 has the fan and heatsink connected together so the heatsink will be also be replaced in this process.

    • Turn laptop over and unscrew the eleven M2 x 6.0mm back cover screws with the Phillips #0 screwdriver.

    • Gently lift the cover plate off the body of the laptop.

    • Ensure that it does not pull on any components such as the USB ports.

    • Unplug the fan connector.

    • Carefully pull out the male header with your fingernails.

    • Avoid pulling on the wire with a lot of force because this could cause the wire to snap off of the connector frame.

    • Remove the five M2 x 4.0 mm screws from the heat sink with a Phillips #0 screwdriver.

    • Gently lift the fan away from the computer.
