This is a simple repair of adding a two-hole button onto a pair of jeans. This repair requires a needle, thread, fabric scissors, and a fabric marker. After following the steps in this guide, a two-hole button should be firmly attached to a pair of jeans. Keep in mind that the needle being used in sharp and is hard to spot if dropped.

    • Find a thread color that matches the fabric you are sewing the button on to.

    • Loop the thread through the eye of the needle.

    • Tie a small knot around the eye of the needle with the thread.

    • Make sure the knot is tight!

    • Thread the needle through the fabric from the inside out.

    • Tie a knot at the end of the thread after pulling most of it through the fabric.

    • Sew the thread in a small 'x' where you would like to place the button.

    • If you don't want to sew, then mark the spot with a white fabric marker.

    • Place the button over the small stitched 'x' or fabric marker spot.

    • Thread the needle through the left hole of the button from the inside out.

    • Pull the needle and thread all the way through the fabric.

    • If you can't find the hole of the button, thread the needle through the fabric first and then through the button hole.

    • Cross the needle over to the right hole of the button.

    • Thread the needle all the way through the fabric.

    • This step creates the first stitch.

    • Repeat Steps 6-7 four to five times, until you have a secure button.

    • Create a thread shank on the inside of the fabric by looping the thread around a stitch.

    • Pull the thread all the way through the hole until it is tight.

    • Repeat this 2-3 times.

    • Tie a knot after the final stitch to secure the stitches.

    • Use fabric scissors to cut off excess thread.
