Getting Error 30 while starting the camera

Does the shutter open after pressing the power button?

Canon has a link "https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?p... that explains the error codes for your camera, but it's not very helpful. For error 30, the only thing they suggest is to turn power on and off, or to remove the battery, then re-insert it after a while. The other suggestion is to use a Canon lens (in case you are using a generic one). After that, they suggest to take the camera to a service depot. Good luck.
