Hello guys. I have an ipod classic 80 gb which shows 'charging please wait' red color on left and yellow triangular exclamation mark. I tried charging in Apple certified ipod 2.0 usb charger and in my PC too for more than 2 hrs and it doesn't startup and I checked the hardware by opening physically looks fine. I would like to get help from anyone telling me how to troubleshoot this problem it would be great honour for me :-)

Opções

Anzar, first make sure that the dock connector is clean, no corrosion and no debris in it. If it looks okay, replace the battery and reevaluate. Check the battery connector carefully. This model had issues with the battery connector coming of the logic board. Use these guides to work on your iPod. Hope this helps, good luck.

Sir I swapped the battery of my brother's ipod classic 30 GB to my ipod and checked the charger it doesn't connect and charge when I remove the charger screen comes on and when connecting to my ipod dock speaker it gets connected and charges my brother's ipod battery. And when I installed my ipod battery to my brother's ipod it charges in both dock speaker and charger but why my ipod not charges in the same charger when i swapped the battery? Earlier was not connecting to my computer but now when i swapped the battery both ipods connecting.

Sounds more like an issues with the dock connector or the logic board, check for broken bend or corroded pins in the dock connector.

It works fine when connecting to dock speaker and computer but the main apple wall outlet charger does not detect and charge when i installed my brother's ipod battery. The connector and pin everything looks fine physically.
