Iphone12 unable to connect to carrier, how do you trouble shoot for this issue. NONE of the simple fixes work, reset, airplane mode on/off, restart, update software, clean SIM card, etc. Apple said the phone is bad, but did not indicate what part is bad. Now what?

I am currently working getting an iPhone repaired. The problem is the display won’t show anything and there is no visible damage to it at all. I have replaced the battery and when I touch the cover of the display cable it is fairly warm. What could be the issue
