About Me

Hello, my name is Alena! I am a senior at NAU and on track to graduate in the Spring of 2024. My major is English with an emphasis in Rhetoric, Writing, and Digital Media Studies. I am from New Mexico. Although I wasn’t born there, I have claimed the desert as my home. I’m an individual who is creative, analytical, concise, and direct.

I also have a cat named Ophelia, whom I love dearly.

My Degree Background

My emphasis in rhetoric is something I can apply to a variety of career paths and has taught me:

-how to analyze

-communicate/present

-conduct research

-apply persuasion and theory to reach a specific target audience.

My path in English as well as job experience has given me skills such as organization, team collaboration, sales, and the capability to take in a lot of information and mold it into something coherent depending on my audience. I want to continue to work on my writing and take each writing opportunity or class to learn something new.

Repair Background

Repairing things is a skill I currently working on. I am excellent at following directions and applying basic knowledge to get to a solution I see fit, but there is still a lot of room for improvement in which I am dedicating this space to do just that.
