My name is Erin Juarez, I am currently a junior at Sam Houston State University, set to graduate in the spring of 2025. My plans include attending Law School in the fall of 2025. I actively engage in several campus organizations, including Army ROTC, the Pre-Law Society, and the First Generation Organization, which I had the privilege of founding at Sam Houston. I also work as a peer mentor coach and recently earned the opportunity to serve as a research assistant for my Political Science Professor, Dr. Ulbig.

At the Academic Success Center, I serve as a peer mentor coach, helping students on academic probation by connecting them with valuable resources, devising success strategies, and ultimately guiding them out of academic difficulties. In my role within ROTC, I oversee cadets, ensuring attendance and mission readiness. As a Research Assistant, I collect data from previous years to research how vice presidents play a role in presidential elections. By collecting data, I hope to help Dr. Ulbig publish a chapter in a book.

My future ambitions involve interning with either the District Attorney or the Judge Advocate General Corps (JAG), as this will deepen my understanding of the legal field, expose me to diverse areas of law, and refine my critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This internship is a pivotal step toward my ultimate goal of attending law school and becoming an attorney.

During my downtime, I enjoy exploring new cities, savoring diverse culinary experiences, and immersing myself in a good book. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to expand my knowledge within the legal industry. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my cat, Baxter. I also enjoy reading Colleen Hoover's books.

In the meantime, I am so excited to create iFixit guides and help other individuals how to fix things. I have learned to fix army gear and how to readjust things to my height. As a 5’3 woman, I would have loved for army gear to be tailored to short women, but that is not always the case. The gear is designed for infantrymen who are 5’7 and above. Therefore, I plan to take my knowledge and teach other people how to tailor their gear so that they avoid back pain, injuries other things.
