Using wire cutters or heavy duty scissors, break off old male clip and remove from fabric.

Insert scissors in the space between the strap and the buckle's first loop and cut through. Next, insert scissors in second loop between the strap and the buckle's second loop and cut through. (It is easier to cut on the inside edges of the loops than to cut the loops in the center)
