+[* black] Once you locate your truss rod, it's time to get adjusting. Grab an allen wrench that will fit into the truss rod. Also make sure to detune your guitar, to lessen any tension on the neck. This will prevent your strings from snapping during this process.
[* black] Remember back to step one. If your neck had a bow in it, you'll want to decrease the bow in the neck by tightening the truss rod. You do this by turning your allen wrench clockwise.
[* black] Similarly, if your neck has a hump to it, or bends upward, you'll want to decrease that hump by loosening the truss rod. You do this by turning your allen wrench counterclockwise.
[* icon_caution] NOTE: DO NOT do this too quickly. This step is one of several that most likely won't be done on the first try. Make small adjustments, check the neck, and adjust again. A good rule of thumb is to turn your allen wrench A QUARTER OF A TURN AT A TIME.
