Unplug the lamp from the power source.
Do not touch the metal prongs sticking out of the connector, only hold by the plastic section of the chord.
Find a well-lit area to work in and begin your repair.

Flip the lamp switch upside down.
Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the four 6 mm screws from the bottom of the foot pedal while holding the button cap in place.

Lift the top off of the foot pedal that holds the button in place and put it to the side.
Remove the damaged button from the switch and place it to the side.
