Lay out your cloth over your working surface.
Set flat iron aside.
The Flat Iron should never be plugged in while cleaning.

Scoop the baking soda (1-3 Tbsp) into your small bowl or cup.
You may need more or less baking soda depending on the size of the your iron's plates.

Add the hydrogen peroxide to the bowl containing the baking soda and stir until a thick paste is formed.
Approximately 10 drops of the hydrogen peroxide is needed per tablespoon of the baking soda.

The consistency of the paste should be similar to a thick and grainy toothpaste.

Smear a thick layer of the paste onto the plates of the iron.
Let sit for 5 minutes.

Let the paste sit on the plates for 5 minutes before proceeding.
Wipe off the excess but not ALL of the paste with the sponge into the small bowl.

Use your cloth or sponge to scrub the plates of the flat iron until all the buildup is removed.
This process may take 2-5 minutes depending on the amount of buildup on your iron.
