Solução escolhida

Had same error earlier,

No need to take laptop apart .

Simply blow air from you're mouth into the left side where the fan exhaust is.

Could hear the fan moving and dust came out of laptop.

Just blow very hard into it, worked for me.

Mena Adel, sounds like a bad fan. If your computer is a T-410, I recommend you get the service manual from here. Page 119 will show you how to replace the fan.

I'm have worked on this particular laptop plenty of times. The bottom line, Lenovo T-410 Has a poor engineering design. The fan blades are very small unlike 99% of any other laptop brand which causes the fan to stop working once the blades are full of debris. There's no need to replace the fan. All you have to do to fix this issue is to get a can of compressed air and blow up the air ventilation outlet. That takes care of the problem 99% of the times.

Short answer:

If you just finished upgrading to Windows 10 and started getting the error, get into the BIOS (F1 key after powering up) and reset to default. Be sure to have "OS optimized defaults" set to Disabled, unless you do use UEFI-based Secure Boot in the system. If you're unsure, try both types of defaults.

Thanks Bander for the tip in your comment.

Backstory:

I had this error come up right after I finished upgrading Windows 7 to Windows 10. It happened after the whole upgrade and all the update installations were done completely. Satisfied with my upgrade experience, I shut down my B490 laptop and went to take a nap. I came back from nap and turned it on for a normal day's work, only to get two beeps and the Fan error message.

The fan was working completely fine, and it didn't seem like anything would be wrong with the fan hardware per se. The laptop had not moved a hair from where it was, so I doubted the fan's pin connection getting lose. I tried blowing air into the holes. Some dust came out, but it didn't help.

What did help was to reset the BIOS to default. You have to be careful here, to NOT choose the OS optimized default (unless you are really using UEFI secure boot). I didn't realize and I applied OS optimized default first. No real harm though, the computer just showed boot menu and the hard disk wouldn't boot. After running some simple diagnostic goodies I found in that menu, I went back to the BIOS and restored the default again, but this time NOT the OS optimized defaults. Couple of restarts, and we're back in business.

So if you are here because you just upgraded to Windows 10 and installed all the updates, and are suddenly getting fan error, just reset the BIOS to defaults as above. It would seem that some changes the Windows 10 upgrade or any of the updates makes would have screwed up some BIOS compatibility and caused the current BIOS settings to cough up the misleading error.

i found it not useful to blow on the fan. it gets spit in the fan blades. just go to the store and buy a can of air. its super cheap and super effective. just open it up and blow it into the side of your computer. a huge puff of dust came out of mine and it started up. super easy and effective.

Remove the battery and plug in the power adapter.

Turn on the computer and you will get the same error.. no problem.

The computer shuts down by itself

put back in the battery and turn on the computer.

The boot sequence will run through the normal boot process.

This is a temporary fix. you may actually need to clean or replace the fan.

I had to partially disassemble the laptop, basically, just to be able to remove the keyboard. The fan was stuck, so I manually spun it around with a small screw driver and blasted the area with some compressed air until the fan was freely spinning again. Thanks for the link to the service manual oldturkey03.

i had that same problem just a couple of hours ago, but i got rid of this, but my case was a bit different, the problem started after blewing out the air into the left side of the laptop, everything was working fine before blewing out the air into the air ventiliation, i did this because i never opened any case before that's why i dropped the idea of opening it and considered to keep it as simple as possible, when i blew the air a lot of dust came out, then started again and got this fatal error, not actually a fatal error because i was already running on 6% battery so plugged in and restarted and the problem gone, but indeed i would prefer blowing out the air instead of opening the case and cleaning everything if you don't have any experience about such things. specially for those like me who freaks out imidiately. so final answer, take a breath as long as possible and then blow it to the air ventiliation, but be aware of the dust which might come right after doing this.

This a technical assistance for Lenovo technicians I had the same error with the t410s i5 but I managed to bypass it u will have to go in steps

1 open the machine

2 get any compatible face in volume

3 if it's a 4 or 3 terminal fan it will have the following 2 pair of wires will be for dc supply 5v,or 0.5A the rest of the remaining wires will be for the sensor

4 u will have to locate for 5v low current on the laptop board and the easiest place is the 1st right is terminal to ground

5 solder the dc pair wires on to point have told u

6 u are good to go enter bios by placing f2 go to usb always on disable it option

7 save and restart is will show fan error BUT place ESCAPE the machine will boot and work at max performance

My laptop's fan was pretty clean this time. So it was not a problem of dirty fan (as it usually is). But it was getting very hot and I had fan error message too.

I followed instructions from Lenovo service manual and extracted the fan from the motherboard. I wiped out former thermal paste that looked very dry to me and replaced it with new thermal paste (0.2 gr at each position).

Now the problem is solved for me. No need to replace fan or heat sink, or anything else.

I hope you find it useful.

Take care to clean former thermal paste thoroughly from heat sink and from processors and also to use the correct amount of thermal paste.

I know this is going to sound like a stupid question but I just need reassurance. What if I got this error right after I accidently dropped my laptop? I have an hp pavilion notebook and prior to dropping it the only way it stayed on for more than 3 mins was if it was plugged in.

You may have dislodged the contact surface between the board and the cooling components, or perhaps a glob of dust became loose and further impeded the fan, be sure to check the power to the fan. Another possibilty is the one you don't want to hear, but just follow the steps to inspect it and it should become apparent what the problem is. Hope this helps..
