Reflow the northbridge on the motherboard and the computer will boot. The northbridge controls the 1/0 bit that tells the laptop to power on.
It happens alot on compaqs and acers.
Can you describe how to do this or provide a link with a diagram? I have an Aspire V3 with no power going to the motherboard. I have yet to take a look at the dc connection, as I didn't want to take the back off if I didn't have to. But since it seems that I have to, I would like to have access to all solutions during the tech apart, just in case. I have never re-flowed a laptop and don't want to do it wrong! Thanks kindly for your advice!
