I had the exact same problem! My camera stopped working after I went for a 100KM bike ride. The vibrations broke the OIS. Very disappointing.
I ordered a new module here: [http://www.etradesupply.com/htc-one-m8-big-rear-facing-camera.html|http://www.etradesupply.com/htc-one-m8-big-rear-facing-camera.html]
Their stuff is 100% legit OEM parts.
So I ordered in the camera, than took apart the M8 by watching this tutorial on YouTube: https://youtu.be/CJtVKlmEbcU
The rear camera and the extra duo camera sensor are NOT connected together. There is a piece of hard copper tape and glue holding both camera sensors in place in the metal frame. A little heat and exacto blade did the trick.
From there I put the phone back together and everything worked perfectly!
