How old is your DVD writer because after certain time or use laser lens becomes weak and it read only CD not DVD. Even it can't write DVD. So its possible that your written DVD was corrupted.

You can try to clean your lens with the help of lens cleaner which is available in the market.

Although if it is not working means need to change DVD writer.
