Finally got around to removing a heavy old built in Air conditioner unit from my living room.

I'd like to install a window that can be opened to let the breeze flow. Could anyone let me know where to start?

Thanks for the support so far. Working on removing the metal frame the air conditioner was housed in this morning. At first nice and quietly with the bolt cutters as not to disturb the neighborhood. Then, more successfully using the angle grinder to cut away the box.
