arturo soto, "Operating system not found..." is most likely caused by either a hard drive failure or not having an Operating system on your computer, but not your missing battery. Try to get into your computers BIOS by pressing F1 or F10 at the red Compaq logo or blue HP logo. here you should set your boot order to CD/Optical drive. I would try to start the computer with a Linux Live CD (i.e. Puppy Linux) and see if this will start your computer. If it does, get yourself a Windows Operating Sytem or install Linux on your Laptop.
