Place a piece of tape on both sides of the lock to ensure it doesn’t fall on the floor once unscrewed.

Make sure enough tape is placed on the lock as the current door lock may be heavier than expected and could fall off once unscrewed.

Ensure the surrounding area is free of any debris or dust that may interfere with the installation.

Place a towel, cloth, or even a container/bucket on the area below the door in case the lock falls to ensure no damage is done to the floor or the surrounding area.
