Background and Identification
Released in August 2018, the Motorola Moto Z3 Play is the successor to the Motorola Z2 Play. Although released at the same time as the Moto Z3, the Moto Z3 Play features a slower processor (considered mid-range) compared to the Moto Z3. At the time of release, the Moto Z3 Play was priced at $500 compared to the Moto Z3 which was priced at $480. Like all Motorola Moto Z smartphones, the Moto Z3 Play features magnetic detachable and reattachable back covers known as Moto Mods.
One persistent problem owners and users of the Moto Z3 Play have found is that the device often experienced problems with reading the SIM card and displayed an ‘Invaild SIM Card’ error. In addition, some users have reported problems connecting to Wi-Fi and cellular services.
If you want to diagnose whether your problem is software or hardware related—including backing up and restoring your device—download the Rescue and Smart Assistant app.
