It's only with manual mode that you're having this issue?

If it is, are you sure that you're that you have the aperture, shutter speed, and ISO set correctly for proper exposure? When you're taking a photo, look at the exposure level indicator to check (the scale on the screen that goes from -3 to +3). Underneath the scale should be a vertical bar which shows you the exposure level. Ideally, the bar should be close to 0. If the bar is all the way to the left by the -3, then the camera is just not getting enough light. If that's the case, you need to lower the aperture, lower the shutter speed, or increase the ISO until the bar is closer to the 0 on the exposure level indicator.

@gxlpe that could be a shutter problem as well as a failed CMOS sensor. Since we do not know what the shutter count on your camera is, the shuter may just have been "wore out". The life expectancy for the shutter for the Rebel T3 is ~100,000 shots. Here is the Canon EOS Rebel T3 EOS 1100D Parts List for your camera since no service manual appears to be available. It will at least give you an idea where the shutter assembly is and what it entails.

If the back display is showing an image the CMOS sensor is working, when looking though the eyepiece with the shutter set on a long exposure does the image go out (become dark) if that happens then you know the reflex mirror is moving out of the way, often times this is the failure.

That only leaves the mechanical shutter which sits in front of the sensor. This is used when the camera is taking high speed images like older film focal plane shutters to limit the exposure.
