“XDCR Fault”
Screen shows the error message “XDCR Error” and an alarm is sounding when the device is powered on. This error means the transducer, a power adapting device, is not working properly.
Connection Problem
Check if all of the tubings and pins connecting to the transducer are securely connected. If any tubes is loose or disconnected, reconnect those pins and tubes.
Incorrect Voltage
Check if the voltage being applied to the transducer is the appropriate voltage level for that transducer.
Faulty Transducer
If all other problems are fixed and the message still appears, the transducer itself may be faulty. In that case replace the transducer with a new one.
Failure during “Monitored Volume Test”
When running the Monitored Volume Test, the volume values are more than 20% different than the specified values.
Incorrect Altitude
Ensure that the altitude set on the device is set to your current location.
Flow Sensor Tubing Problems
Check the internal tubing of the flow sensor and fix any kinks or crumpled parts of the tubes that could prevent flow in the sensor.
Flow Sensor Leaking
See if the o-ring molds in the flow sensor are working properly and replace the o-rings if they are damaged.
Faulty Flow Sensor
Check if the flow sensor is showing accurate readings. If the readings are inaccurate, replace the flow sensor.

Ventilator does not pass the battery performance test
Ventilator fails to run for one hour during the battery performance test.
Battery capacity has diminished and cannot hold a charge.
Every 10,000 Hours or two years the internal battery is recommended to be replaced. The battery performance test failure could indicate a need for this maintenance.
Replace the batteries P/N 21542 - Cardinal Health considers this a non-repairable item and highly recommends this maintenance be done by an authorized and trained technician.
Ventilator DC status light is green, but only runs on batteries for a short period of time
Batteries are not holding charge.
Check batteries for capacity level:
Access the SVT mode. Access “Transducer Data”. Choose “Analog X” any one showing will do. Rotate the control knob until IB (Internal Battery) is selected press accept. Exit screens and return to the wave form screen. In the area just above one of the wave forms that shows what the wave form represents you can touch this and a menu window will appear rotate the control knob until the “Analog X” that you set IB in is selected then press accept. The wave form will now represent a battery capacity. You can see this voltage by pressing the freeze button and the voltage value will appear next to the curser line, with a green status light this voltage should read above 80% of full charge. The charge scale is 1.0 to 4.0, 1.0 being 0 charge and 4.0 being Fully charged. The formula to find the percent of charge for the VELA internal batteries is;
# - 1.0 ÷ 3 x 100 = % of charge
Example:
3.4 -1.0 = 2.4 ÷ 3 = 0.8 x 100 = 80 % of full charge capacity
Battery charge monitor lost its memory.
Reset Battery Charge Circuit:
Disconnect the batteries from the power PCB, after vent cover is removed disconnect one of the battery connectors. Connect AC and power vent up to operation and then power down and reconnect the batteries.
Ventilator DC status light is green when AC is disconnected and runs for a short time but gets a “Battery Low” message which reappears after pressing reset, vent runs for hours
