@aiedenntodd sounds like you are having issues with either the hinges or the display lid. The "white rectangle lines" could come from a damaged display cable which goes through the hinges. We will need to see what this all looks like. Post some pictures of this all with your question Adicionar imagens a uma pergunta já existente We also need to know the exact model number for your laptop so we can check what parts etc. are avaaible.
