Reader for UFS3.1 BGA153 chip

Hello everyone,

Since my Zenfone 8 is dead, I'm trying to get my data back.

So, I had try everything with all ANDROID or MTP mode. The phone was never see by the computer, whatever mode I had tested.

So, after I check, the motherboard was dead.

I had precisely removed the BGA153 chip in order to read it. But... What a mess !

Seems that only Medusa Box 2 or JTAG can read it.

Can you confirm me that ?

Does anyone had already tried to get data back for a desoldered chip ?

Thanks in advance !

PS : UFS3.1 - BGA153 - from Asus Zenfone 8

@oversu firmware, software, flashing and missing (forgotten) passwords are really not what we deal with on here. We are more of the hardware repair kind of group. For your "issue" I suggest you check those forums that deal with that. Something like this one or even read through the NAND Flash Data Recovery Cookbook

Now, as for your reader, I doubt that only a Medusa Box 2 can read the IC. There are many others out there that claim to be able to read/write to the NAND. The only issue is that those are twice the cost. There will still be an issue with encryption for the IC and you may not get the data recovered. Things have dramatically changed when it comes to those IC's being encrypted. Think about how easy data theft would be if you could recover all the information from a phone by just doing a chip-off data recovery.
