Sega released the 'Sega Master System II' in 1991, to serve as a 'budget console' to those who could not afford a Mega Drive/Sega Genesis, which was initially released 2 years before, in 1989. The console itself was a cost reduced continuation of the Sega Master System released in 1986.

Thx. Very helpful info. This is how i lowered my voltage. :D but amps still low as you say. I will search other adapter. And with current adapter to play need to many time.

Hi @aurimas79542

Do you mean the Mega Drive or the Mega Drive II?

In either case you would need to have an adapter that has a -ve polarity 10V DC 1.2A output which also has a connector plug that is a suitable size for the device.

The polarity of an AC/DC adapter output is usually shown on the adapter case.

The adapter that you posted will cause damage to the device, a) because it is the wrong polarity i.e. +ve, and b) because it is the incorrect and a higher voltage.

Depending on which model you meant here's a Mega Drive service manual and the Mega Drive II service manual that may help.

I think i can lower the voltage with diodes. But i don't understand what means wrong i.e. +ve. So this charger not suitable at any case?

@aurimas79542

No the charger is not suitable, wrong voltage, 12V not 10V, wrong polarity +ve not -ve and also not enough current - it shows only 800mA (0.8A) output, not the required 1200mA (1.2A).

The VA shown on the adapter label is the volt/amps value i.e. voltage x current i.e. 12 x 0.8 = 9.6VA VA is sometimes used to express power value instead of Watts so it could also have shown 9.6W. It should be 12VA or 12W

+ve means positive

-ve means negative

You could just reverse the wires between the adapter circuit board and the adapter's DC output plug on the adapter board itself (if you open it up) where the output cable connects to the board as this will change the polarity on the centre pin of the plug. But whether then there's enough current I don't know, probably not. Also the voltage is still wrong but maybe using diodes will work

There's also some bad looking solder joints on the back of the board that need attention.

First of all i need stable power supply thx for advice

@aurimas79542

You still need to make sure that the voltage is not more than 10V DC before you connect the console to the power supply although I've read that 9V DC 1.2A will work as well
