The Bose 3 2 1 Media Center I have no longer works but I am wondering if I can still use the speakers. If I cut the connect off the speaker wires and plug the speakers into my receiver, will they work?

Hi,
You may have to make sure that the impedance of the speakers is suitable for the output of the receiver.
Check what is shown on the back of the speaker i.e. impedance measurement in Ohms i.e. 4 Ohms, 8 Ohms, 16 Ohms and then check the receiver's specifications to see what the speaker impedance should be.
They should match, if not there may be problems with the way they sound or the receiver may even go into protect mode
Also sometimes the polarity is important. Check if the speaker terminals have a +ve and -ve designation and then match that to the receiver's speaker connections. If none on the speakers then it shouldn't matter.
