Black and colored bars on one half of the screen after I adjusted it?

hey all!

this morning i was using my laptop on my bed, and i went to tilt my screen back (my thumb was pressing on the screen, with the rest of my hand cupping the back,) and a strip appeared on my screen. at first i thought nothing of it and thought i could fix it by doing the same thing, but i couldnt.

ive tried a bunch of stuff (including restarting several times, shaking my laptop around, doing the ususal hit and run on my screen,) none of which seemed to work, and now ive confirmed that it is, indeed, broken as !&&*.

i can also make one of the strips change color if i run a finger horizonatlly across the bottom of my laptop, so i think it's not the lcd thats broken, but just the connecting thingy?

if anyone could suggest a fix, please do so, since im a stupid lil teenager who accidentally broke their screen and is now too scared to tell their mom.
