Is your freezer working ok? Or is it that neither the freezer nor the frig is cold enough?

In the mean time, you may or may not know that the temperature settings for this model can be locked in (so know one can change the settings unless they first unlock the controls). Could your controls be in the "locked" mode? I think you have to depress and hold the unlock button for 3 seconds to lock and/or unlock the controls. Might want to try it and see if this allows you to change the temperature settings.

Temperature Control Board

The temperature control board provides voltage to the compressor and fan motors. If the temperature control board is defective, it will stop sending voltage to the cooling system. However, this is not a common occurrence. Control boards are often misdiagnosed—before replacing the control board, first test all of the more commonly defective components. If none of the other components are defective, consider replacing the temperature control board.

Main Control Board

The main control board might be defective. However, this is almost never the cause. Before replacing the main control board, test all of more commonly defective parts. If none of the other components are defective, consider replacing the main control board.

Hi @ Bertie Haynes,

What is the temp in the fridge section?

Can you hear if the evaporator fan is running in the freezer section?

The fan is behind a panel inside the freezer compartment. If the compressor motor is running, the evap fan will be running (not talking about the condenser fan which is on the outside of the cabinets at the bottom).

When a door is opened (either door) the evap fan will stop running. When the doors are closed it will start again. You don’t want to blow cold air out when a door is opened ;-)

You may have to press an ear against the fridge to hear it stop and start.

If you can't hear it at all, it may be faulty or iced up.

If it is iced up then there may be a problem with the defrost heater or the defrost thermostat.

The fan is used to push cold air flowing over the evap unit, from the freezer into the refrigerator section via the damper to cool down the fridge to the required temp. The freezer will always be colder even if the fan isn’t running as the evap unit which generates the cold is located there.

Here’s a link to the parts for your model. Click on the freezer part diagram to see the location of the evap and evap fan.
