On live network shots ( news, daily morning shows etc) I don’t get sound when it first comes on ( about 5 secs). Occasionally I also lose it intermittently. Any ideas?

Jack Rourke you said "On live network" you lose the sound. Does the same happen if you are streaming or connect a DVD/BR player, game console etc.? If so my first guess would be the audio IC on the main board. Those are not the best quality. Try a soundbar etc. and let us know if you still have those issues when using it.

I have tried the sound bar configuration, in fact I usually have the sound bar hooked up. Here’s the scenario: I only
find it happens with NBC and it only happens with live shots ( from the network). Examples would be the lead in to live programming, TodayShow, Nightly News. It happens every time those shows come back on from commercial break as well as well. This tv is less than two years old. Enough to make me want put it in trash!

Did anyone find an answer for this problem? I have the exact same problem during live broadcasts except it's when I used my Vizio soundbar. The audio using the Samsung TV speakers is fine but the audio cuts out during live broadcasts (sports, newscasts, etc).
