It does not charge anymore, it is not detected in itunes, however if I heat up the battery with a blowdryer it charges on the red battery icon but stays there. Earbuds did not work when it was on. It was playing music earlier then I unplugged my headphones and it stopped working all of a sudden. Is it a bad Tristar IC or is it a lightning assembly issue?

It was a bad lightning connector assembly. I charged battery externally with a battery tester and backed up my data.

It could be the charging dock,you should test it before even think about a bad tristar.

Don't need to change it all,just disconect the old piece and conect/plug the new one. Then you'll know if it is or it is not.
If it work,replace your charging dock.
If not,post results we'll try to help.
will do, I ordered a dock replacement coming in tmrw, also got an external battery charger so I can charge my battery and back up my data to cloud
