Audio jack (socket) is broken

Somehow I was listening to music with the wired cable plugged in and it got stuck and half of the headphone jack got stuck and ended up breaking the entire audio jack in the headphones. I tried searching for that specific piece on aliexpress but only find it for the jbl flip 3 speaker, the socket is completely distroyed and need a new one. Any ideas where I can purchase this? Repair is not too hard just can’t find the piece.. any help I would appreciate it. Thank you! P.s bluetooth works perfectly fine but will eventually die so need this repaired !!!

I took apart my headphones and this what the jack looks like.. it literally has no jack. I’m wondering if there is anywhere I can purchase this full board with cables and soder already done? Or will I have to do it on my own? This jack is for charging and wired listening. It is 2.5 mm Jack

Hi,

If you scrape off the white (clear?) insulation from the board's terminals you will see what each wire does.it is written on the board

1 = covered over can't see

2 = covered over can't see

3 = L+ (left)

4 = R+ (right)

5 = Gnd (Ground)

So presumably connections 3-5 are for the audio and 1-2 are for charging the battery

Post another picture with the white insulation material cleaned off so that we have a better idea of what is needed. Also post a picture of the headphones cable jack plug and also of the charger plug.

It may be that you'll have to make your own but if the right socket can be found then you just have to unsolder the old ( looks like 6 connection points ) and solder in the new.

There are no results when searching online using the 1 board number that I can make out from your pictures.

Hi,

You may have to search places like this to find a socket that will physically fit into the space and has the same pcb connection configuration. (I'm assuming that it is a TRS type socket -i.e. 3 rings on the audio plug).

I thought that you meant that the internals of the socket itself were broken. See blue arrow in image

If that is so you'll have to unscrew the pcb from the case onto which the socket is mounted and unsolder the socket from the pcb. Then you'll have to determine the connections between the socket and the pcb so that it matches the wiring going away to the headphones.

Usually with stereo audio socket and plug, the tip contact is the left speaker, the ring contact is the right speaker and the sleeve is the common earth for both speakers.

If the headphones have a microphone (don't know the headphones myself) then you'll need a TRRS socket instead.

Same convention although it may be tricky with regards the microphone connection in the socket. Does the cable plug have 3 or 4 rings?

ALTERNATIVE OPTION.

See if you can ascertain the board number on the socket board, check both sides of the board (can't quite make it out myself, - old eyes ;-)

If you can make out a board number Google search the number only and see if there are any results. Worth a shot.

I’m not sure which one to select .. I can provide pictures of what is looks like. I believe there is no soldering required it’s just a cable that connects to an adapter
