Enoch Vinnegar Jr there are a few possibilities. One being a bad parking brake switch or a bad switch in your brake fluid reservoir switch. This series has an issue with the wiring to the instrument cluster as well. Check on here for that. The image will show you where the parking brake switch is located
and this one
where the switch on your fluid reservoir is. You do want to check both of these switches for continuity.

@oldturkey03 do you have a detailed document on how to remove the emergency brake assembly and driver's wiring harness under the dash? I may be missing information in my Ford tech service manual. I need to remove all this stuff to replace the floorpan. Same generation 2004-2008.
@Ben this is for the emergency brake 04 F 150 Parking Brake Still looking for the wiring harness.

Was wondering where the switch that lights up the emergency brake light symbol on dash panel is located so I can change it. As long as this light is lite, my cruise control will not engage
