I have recently have had a problem with my iPhone 5c.I replaced the battery(without damaging any components).After i booted the phone up it worked fine for a few minutes and then the screen glitches out and the phone would not turn back on.I have tried removing the battery and place it back but nothing seems to work.I am wondering if it is a faulty battery or another issue?

Hello Elisha. Presuming that the original battery didn't hold a charge well but still worked to a certain degree, I would suggest re-installing it to see if the phone still works. That would help you determine if the replacement battery is defective or not.
When you say "without damaging any components", are you referring to the small SMD components surrounding the battery connector or the major modules like screen, camera etc. ? There are 13 components that can be very easily damaged or dislodged while disconnecting the battery connector. Some of them are very critical or they can move around causing short circuits. They are also very small, typically 1 mil X 0.5 mil, almost indistinguishable from dust. If you are not specifically looking for them, they are easy to miss. Please inspect the connector area with magnification to see if anything is amiss.

So long as all parts have been reconnected the way they were, and so long as the battery isn't faulty, it should work. However, it is possible that they is just no charge in the battery itself. If you're sure that everything has been reconnected properly try plugging it in to charge for a while - even if it doesn't indicate that it's charging (and may be so low in power that it does not turn on the screen yet). Just be careful with it though. Don't put anything flammable around it, keep an eye on it and if it heats up disconnect it immediately.

I have tried charging it for over 1 hour with not signs of life. The battery seems to be getting unusually hot.
Hears like bad battery
Does sound like a faulty battery. Try reconnecting the old one and see if it works. If it does then the new one is definitely faulty.
