So you see the itunes logo on the ipad and when connected it and tried to restore it you got 1671?
Try to restore the ipad in DFU Mode:
Step 1: Turn off your iPod touch / iPhone completely and connect to PC / mac
Step 2: Hold down the Power button for 3 seconds
Step 3: Without releasing the power button, also hold the Home button for 10 seconds
Step 4: Without releasing the home button, release the power button and keep holding the Home button for 20 seconds.
Sometimes you need to update or restore your iOS device and for this purpose you use iTunes applications. To transfer, restore, update iOS devices you simply need to connect your device to computer using USB cable and while going through some of the above activities it shows iTunes error 1671. It generally happens due to incompatible version of the iTunes or iTunes components are corrupt or damaged USB cable.

I had the same issues and it ended up being iTunes was still downloading software for the update. I don't have a clue why it prompted me to continue the update when it was still downloading. Look in the upper right-hand side of iTunes for the square box which has the downloading indicator on it. Make sure it's still not downloading before reacting to the prompts. Once it was done, I was clear for takeoff! Hope this helps some of you.

1. Update iTunes to the latest version to ensure that it is compatible with the version of IOS and the iDevice with which we are working.
2. Update the antivirus and run a full system scan for infections.
3. Install the latest version of the computer operating system.
4. Connect the iPhone or iPod Touch to a high-speed USB port (USB 2.0 or higher).
5. How to Solve an Unknown Error 1671 Occurred on iPad
